Although all eyes are currently set at the Olympic Games where kiteboarding is making its first Games appearance 4-9 August 2024 in Marseille, it is worth to take a look at the competitions in the second half of the year!
The KiteFoil World Series will kick off in Traunsee, Austria at the beginning of September as first of three events (followed by Cagliari, Italy and Pingtan, China), boosting a total of 95.000 EUR over the three events. Not only the winners of the individual events will take home prize money, but more than 30.000 EUR will be distributed to the top 10 men and women at the end of the tour.
The Asian Championships are scheduled for the middle of September in Daishan, China, and provide the first opportunity to compete on the new registered kites and foils for the LA 2028 quadrennium. Besides World Ranking points, 20.000 EUR of prize money are up for grabs in the Formula Kite class. The event will also feature the Asian Championships for the TwinTip:Racing class.
The Formula Kite Youth Europeans will return to Torregrande-Oristano on the island of Sardinia (Italy) in October and feature the usual U21 category plus the newly introduced U17 division, replacing the originally planned A's Youth Foil Europeans.
The season will wrap up middle of December with the Pan American championships in Sao Luis (Brazil), with consistent wind and warm water.
Registration is open for most of the events at www.kiteclasses.org
Early bird discounts apply until 1 month before the onsite-registration of each event.
