Extended family-friendy area, a bigger coastal market, coastal walks, boat trips, games, colouring competitions, Piper's funfair and more on Sunday 14 July in Crosshaven, Cork.

Ahoy, families and adventure-seekers! Volvo Cork Week will cast off for a day of nautical fun next month at the Family Fun Day on Sunday 14th July. The picturesque waterfront of Royal Cork Yacht Club (RCYC) will transform into a bustling hub of excitement from 12-5pm with a treasure trove of free fun, education, and nautical activities designed to keep young sea-lovers entertained. The adventures will take families across the whole village of Crosshaven from the RCYC to Camden Fort Meagher and everywhere in between.

Don't miss out on this exciting event that promises to bring the community together for a day of family-friendly fun. Visit the Coastal Market which is bigger than ever this year, with many local producers. Take a coastal walk from the village to Camden Fort (follow map). Enjoy boat trips from the Custom House on the Cailin Ór.

Volvo Cork Week 2024 is also running a colouring competition with some fantastic prizes on the day. Red FM's Colm O'Sullivan will be broadcasting his afternoon show live from RCYC from 2-6pm. And while families are in Crosshaven, they can also enjoy the famous Piper's Fun Fair in the village.

The Family Day kicks off a week full of activity for Volvo Cork Week 2024. Racing both inside and outside the harbour at the world-renowned regatta will take place from Monday 15th to Friday 19th July and includes the 1720 European Championships with over 20 1720's that were designed in Cork, and in addition to that the renowned Beaufort Cup - the biggest one yet - with entries from around the world including USA and Ecuador. This race for international uniformed service personnel, encompasses a race around the Fastnet Rock and back to Cork.

Families wanting to catch a glance of the Harbour Race taking place on Wednesday 17th July, should head to one of the recommended viewing points: Camden and Church Bay in Crosshaven, the new Haulbowline Island Amenity Park, Ringaskddy and the promenade in Cobh.

Volvo Car Ireland is the title sponsor of Volvo Cork Week in association with Johnson & Perrott, with official partners Cork County Council, Port of Cork, Musto, Heineken, Barry & Fitzwilliam, John Paul Construction, Smart Club Solutions and media partner Cork's Red FM.
