Tim Jackett, Chief Designer at Tartan Yachts recently made a trip to sunny Panama City, Florida to deliver a new Fantail. 
Weve had new Fantail owners from many different sailing locals which required an ability to adapt the design to best fit each owners particular needs. We recently delivered a Fantail to Panama City, Florida with a new twist. The owner requested wheel steering and a diesel engine. We retooled the cockpit to accommodate the wheel steering and we added a service hatch in the cockpit sole. 

The bay in Panama City can kick up a nasty, short chop and the diesel sail drive quickly showed off its power.
