During that day, Canada sailors are Invited to take a picture and/or a video of themselves with or without their crew sailing, post it on their social media and tag Sail Canada using the following hashtags: #SummerSolstice #RaiseYourSails and #GoSailing.

Canadian community challenge: Register your sailing hours!

On June 22 - a little more than one month away from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games --, the Canadian sailing community will aim to collectively reach a total of 700 hours on the water to match the distance of approximately 6,500 km that separates Kingston, Ontario, from Marseille, France, while sailing at an average speed of 5 knots. Canadian sailors are encouraged to record their sailing hours between June 22 up until Sunday, June 23, at 11:59.59pm (ET) and register to win one of the participation prizes through www.sailing.ca/gosailing.

Whether you're cruising with friends and family, or if you plan to compete in an event in Canada such as Sail West or to represent Canada at Kiel Week, at the ILCA 4 Youth World Championships or at the SailGP event in New York, #RaiseYourSails, #GoSailing, celebrate #SummerSailstice and register your sailing hours on June 22!
