A total of six Canadian sailors will take part in the 2025 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 European Championships, to be held June 3-8 in Thessaloniki, Greece.

The six Canadians who will be competing, all members of Sail Canada's National Team, are Antonia and Georgia Lewin-LaFrance in 49erFX, Thomas and William Staples in 49er, as well as Galen Richardson and Madeline Gillis in Nacra 17.

Antonia and Georgia Lewin-LaFrance will be back in action following the bronze medal they earned at the end of April at the second Sailing Grand Slam Series event of the season, French Olympic Week, held in Hyères, FRA. The sisters from Chester, N.S., also previously won a bronze medal in Thessaloniki, GRE, at the 2021 edition of the 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 European Championships.

"We're looking forward to the European Championships," said Antonia and Georgia Lewin-LaFrance. "This venue holds a special place in our hearts: it's where we won our first-ever medal at a senior championship back in 2021 and it was our first time qualifying for a medal race. It's meaningful to come back with those memories, but also with fresh eyes as we start a new chapter in our campaign. We're excited to have some dedicated training time here, ahead of the regatta, with our training group and new coach."

A total of 236 sailors and 118 boats are registered for the event, including 56 boats in 49er, 33 in 49erFX and 29 in Nacra 17.
