Whittley Marine Group, Australia's leading trailerable sports cruiser boat manufacturer, announces a sale event on the new Limited-Edition Heritage CR 2800 SD model. This Limited-Edition model will be allocated to the next ten builds to be produced at the Whittley Factory in Melbourne of the popular CR 2800. The new release CR 2800 SD model edition will feature a signed timber plaque by designer Steven Whittley and is your chance to secure a piece of Australian boat building history and a true collector's item in years to come.

Alan Whittley, Director of Sales & Marketing at Whittley Marine Group, had this to say about the release of the Limited-Edition Heritage 2024 CR 2800 SD model. "The CR 2800 has been and remains one of the most popular boats built by the Whittley Family and Company since its introduction in 2007. The Whittley factory has saved its best CR 2800 SD build until now, with the release of this new Limited Edition Heritage version. Now is your chance to secure a limited build slot to arguably the greatest Australian-made sports cruiser models."

The Limited-Edition Heritage CR 2800 SD model features the following popular features:

  1. Legally trailerable and under the maximum towing width of 2.5 meters.
  2. Designed to be towed by larger SUV's and larger pick-up trucks.
  3. Open plan layout, single-level twin zone sleeping accommodation areas.
  4. Large rear swim platform, uninterrupted by the outboard at the rear.
  5. Electric sunroof with pack rack for water sports toys and walk-around side decks.
  6. Powered by a Volvo Penta engine and packaged on a high-quality Mackay Trailer.
  7. Ample stand-up private toilet and shower area.
  8. Electric sunroof, Simrad screen option and Zip Wake Automatic Trim Tab System.

Mr. Whittley continued to say that. "As we look back at the success of the CR 2800 model, it's timely to also look at the many benefits of a trailer boat that has become such an important part of so many families' memories of an extended stay on the water. This model boat is known as an all-rounder, offering the luxury of a beachfront apartment capable of ocean-going adventures. It can be towed nearly anywhere at any time with a suitable tow vehicle. The possibility of the trailer boat lifestyle is endless, it is easy to see why this model is known as the wave piercing caravan on water!"

As one of Australia's first computer-designed hulls and layouts, the CR 2800 was released back in 2007 as an entirely futuristically styled maxi trailer cruiser, replacing the popular Whittley Cruisemaster 700. The model opened up and created the extended on-water weekender concept and initiated the Whittley brand's blue water sports cruiser image to a new generation of family buyers. The release of the CR 2800 revolutionised the maxi trailer boat market and showed Australian families the potential it offered for weekend boating. It offered extensive big boat features in a trailerable platform, previously limited to larger in-water boat models.

The 2024 Limited Edition Heritage CR 2800 will feature:

  1. A Limited-Edition plaque signed by the boat designer Steven Whittley.
  2. A one of ten production numbers, strictly limited to the Heritage CR 2800 model release.
  3. A personal on-water handover with Neville Whittley at your closest Whittley Factory-owned dealership.
  4. Custom styling by the Whittley in-house design studio team including a striking all black hull, powder-coated black railing, and unique cool-touch vinyl technology upholstery and new style dash configuration.
  5. Complimentary bow thruster.
  6. The original build and design documents along with the marketing material from its launch, will be collated and supplied with the sale of the boat for the first time.
  7. The Limited-Edition decal design unique only to the Heritage Edition release.
  8. New 2024 model changes and updates, unique stern drive power plant option with maximised rear platform.

From its release, the CR 2800 instantly received glowing reviews from Australia's leading boating media critics; please see below some comments upon testing:

"The most capable trailerable cruiser made in and for Australia." Boatsales.com.au, David Lockwood.

"With caravan parks becoming clogged, I know that with a CR 2800 behind me, it's going to be a whole lot easier to find a little solitude on a river or estuary somewhere." Dom Wiseman, Boatadvice.com.au

"Whittley has been in the cruiser market, for a very long time. What they have managed to do is take many of these ideas and put them in one model, and it's trailerable!" Angelo San Giorgio, Trade A Boat.

Mr. Whittley finished by saying that "Not only does this Limited-Edition release CR 2800 SD come with some fantastic new additons, the Whittley Factory is running unique once a year factory cash back offers that ensure a great deal for you and your family on a new CR 2800 build.
