J/70 WOW Women's League © J-Boats

The creation of Women-on-Water (WOW) has massively boosted women's participation in sailing. Female sailors have been given a new point of departure from where they can explore new ways of sailing- with racing at all levels.

Many new women sailors are joining. Old friendships are rekindled in this new community. We see increased activity in the local sailing clubs. We see local sailing clubs given new life as a result of the J/70 community where WOW plays a big part. We see WOW sailors training and racing 365 days a year!

To support that enthusiasm and growth, please enjoy the first WOW Magazine that captures the WOW stories, personalities, and energy... an impressive 80-page publication!

The publication is timely as the Women's SAILING Champions League final will take place in Sundby, Denmark, from September 15th to 17th, 2023. Here, thirty-two women's teams have qualified from ten nations, including teams from as far away as Australia. The format will be the same as in the SAILING Champions League: speedy races, short courses, 12 to 15 minutes long - probably up to 50 races. Five teams from Denmark are taking part, i.e. the latest champions from 2022 in Lausanne - the WOW team from KDY.
