UK OK Dinghy Class Association End of Year Review © UKOKDCA

As 2023 comes to a close and 2024 starts it's good to look back on an epic year and if ever there was a year that had a single focus, 2023 was it with Britain hosting the most incredible event in the OK calendar with the Worlds at Lyme Regis.

We were blessed with an amazingly friendly club as host, a great venue and weather that defied the general pattern for the year that left so many other big events cursed with no wind, and gave us wind and sun with rain only appearing after the last day was complete. So of course this year's retrospective will be heavily dominated by memories of that landmark event.

It was also a year when British sailors set out their stall as being the strongest OK Dinghy Fleet in the World with not just Henry winning the World Championships, but also Charlie, Nick and Matt taking all three podium places at the European Championships, Andy Davies winning the Spring Cup and Nick rounding the season out by winning the Autumn Trophy. What a year!
