Race for Water back at sea: unveiling the new Odyssey

by Race for Water Foundation 7 Dec 2023 02:57 PST

The Race for Water Foundation celebrates 13 years of ocean conservation with the launch of a new Odyssey.

Race for Water Foundation, a pioneer in ocean conservation, mark its 13th year of ongoing commitment and concrete action. As 2024 approaches, the foundation is proud to announce its next Odyssey in the Mediterranean Sea aboard the MODX 70, the 1st Zero Carbon Emission catamaran.

After two worldwide expeditions against plastic pollution, the foundation is setting sail again with new ambitions: demonstrate the importance of a healthy ocean to fight climate change and promote solutions to decarbonise maritime transport. These new objectives are in line with the Foundation's three flagship programs:

  • Welcome "Ocean & Climate" scientist experts to study the impact of climate change on the Ocean and the importance of marine biodiversity to combat it.
  • Raise awareness on the importance of the Ocean through the creation of educational content, events organization and the international interventions of the Race for Water teams.
  • Promote and apply the "Zero Carbon Emission" technological solutions used on board to contribute to the decarbonization of the maritime world.

Race for Water Foundation is also renewing its historic partnership with Ocean Développement shipyard, in collaboration with Aeroforce, builder of the MODX 70, the first zero-emission catamaran navigating with 100% renewable energy. This revolutionary and exceptional vessel will become the Foundation's itinerant ambassador, symbolizing Race for Water's commitment to sustainable navigation, in harmony with the Ocean.

The history of Race for Water is now being written with a new vigor, woven of challenges and innovative solutions to preserve our common good: the ocean.
