Whilst last year's Yacht of the Series, JAGO, J109, Mike and Susie Yates and indeed a good number of other regular competitors, are sailing round the Fastnet Rock, entries have already opened for the 2023 Hamble Winter Series, organised by the Hamble River Sailing Club.

The 42nd running of the Series will start on the weekend of the 7th & 8th of October, and continue through to Sunday 3rd December 2023. Yachts entering the main series will have two races a day on the first four Sundays and one per day on the last four Sundays, when the light and the weather are less helpful.

The Hamble IRC Autumn Championships will take place over the weekend of 14th & 15th October and boats entered for the whole of the Hamble Winter Series will once again be entered into the championships free of charge.

With One Design racing back on the increase in the Solent, five classes are already signed up for the two weekends of the Hamble One Design Championships. The J70 Class and SB20 Class will be returning once again. The Cape 31 Class, who came for the first time last year, are back for the two weekends this time and they will also continue with two races a day on the last four Sundays to complete their winter series. Can Jiraffe hold on to the trophy this year?

The J111s will be finishing off their season by attending the two OD weekends for the first time in 2023. The RS21 Class will be coming to the weekend of the 21st & 22nd October to complete their summer series.

Entry fees for 2023 are the same as last year and Earlybird entries for IRC yachts competing in the whole main series will not close until 8th September 2023.
