The Caribbean Foiling Championships is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated 4th edition of the event, set to take place from December 8th to 10th, 2023. Foiling athletes from around the globe are invited to St. Martin, where they will once again experience the breathtaking crystal clear waters, consistent trade winds, and glorious sunshine that create the perfect conditions for exhilarating racing.

Despite facing unique challenges posed by abnormal wind conditions during the 2022 Caribbean Foiling Championships, participants demonstrated unwavering determination and fostered a remarkable spirit of camaraderie. They embraced the situation by engaging in exciting activities, exploring the welcoming island, and indulging in a variety of thrilling watersports. The organizers express deep gratitude for the participants' resilience and unwavering enthusiasm, eagerly anticipating the 2023 edition that will further build upon the tremendous success achieved in previous years.

Building upon the resounding success of introducing Wingfoiling as a new discipline in the 2021 edition, the 2023 Caribbean Foiling Championships is thrilled to include Wingfoil as an integral part of the standard format. The event will feature three disciplines: Wingfoil, Windfoil, and Kitefoil, each offering Professional and Leisure classes to accommodate participants of all skill levels. Maxim van den Pol, the event organizer, eagerly expresses his enthusiasm, stating, "The upcoming event promises a sensational weekend, uniting like-minded individuals and the vibrant foiling community. It's a celebration of our shared passion for foiling, where friendships are forged, and unforgettable experiences await."

The fourth edition of the Caribbean Foiling Championships will span three action-packed days of racing. Two days will showcase high-paced course racing, while the third day will be dedicated to the thrilling long-distance race known as the "Around the Island Race."

Undoubtedly the highlight of the competition, as the "Around the Island Race" is eagerly anticipated by all participants. This challenging 26 nautical mile lap will see athletes navigate their way around the stunning island of St. Maarten/St. Martin, traversing both Dutch and French waters in a quest for the fastest time. Two years ago, local rider Julien Quentel shattered the record, completing the race in an astounding time of 1 hour, 12 minutes, and 17 seconds, surpassing the previous record by over 15 minutes.

Responding to the overwhelming positive feedback received about the long-distance race for the Wingfoil discipline, the organizers have committed to organizing at least one long-distance race per class. This means, Wingfoilers will embark on a challenging 13 nautical downwind journey up to Long Bay, ensuring an extraordinary experience for all participants.

In the coming weeks leading up to the event, further details regarding the courses, qualification rules, and the safety protocol will be provided to participants and made available on the official event website.

To celebrate the opening of registration, early bird participants who register before October 1st will receive an exclusive 15% discount on their registration fee. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to be part of the Caribbean Foiling Championships!
