Greg and Cecilia will be sailing their new yacht "Camelia" along the coasts of Portugal, Spain and France and exploring the Mediterranean for a couple of years. They received a thorough 7-day handover and sail training from Amel and Flagstaff Marine to make sure they are confident and comfortable with their new yacht.

New Amel 50 EVO

The multi-award-winning Amel 50 was presented at the 2023 Dusseldorf International Boat Show with new standard features. Always attentive to improvements to be made to Amel sailboats and in connection with their customers, Amel has integrated new technologies on the AMEL 50 and 60. These new features aim to increase autonomy and respect for the environment, but also to further improve comfort and performance at sea.

New Amel 50 EVO standard features:

  • New hardtop with toughened glass windscreens
  • 540w Solar panels on the hardtop
  • Coppercoat antifoul paint
  • 200l grey water holding tank
  • 150hp Volvo engine
  • Gori feathering propeller
  • Flexible drive shaft vibration dampening coupling
  • Electric induction stove and oven
  • 4000w inverter
  • Optional carbon mast

Along with the unique Amel watertight bulkheads, central engine room, and centre cockpit with electric sail control systems, both the Amel 50 and 60 remain the choice for sailors demanding the very best in quality, safety and the ability to comfortably sail anywhere in the world short-handed.
