Exploring some of the remote areas of the planet is a dream for most, and chances to do so are few and far between. Henri-Lloyd are offering a place for a once in a lifetime experience aboard Ocean Warrior along the west coast of Greenland, where you can see first-hand some of the most stunning scenery on the planet, as well as contribute to a vital scientific project.
British explorer Jim McNeill is the leader of the Ocean Warrior Project and a Global Ambassador for Henri-Lloyd, whose mission is to put their 'finger on the pulse of our planet' so that we, as a species, can make better decisions, societally, commercially, and politically as to our immediate actions and our future intentions.
Their vision is to inform, educate and engage the widest audience about the importance of the oceans in humankinds' plight to survive, creating a better respect and understanding of the most important asset to life on Earth.
June to October 2023 sees the first voyage of the Ocean Warrior Resolute Expedition, an 11-year endeavour to help scientists gauge the condition of our Oceans, retracing the endeavours of early explorers across 10,000 miles of the polar region.
The winner will join Leg Five, a 10-day voyage from Nuuk to Upernavik, along the west coast of Greenland via Disko Bay. The team will sail onboard Europe's largest wooden Schooner, SV Linden to experience, document, discover and explore this breathtakingly beautiful part of the world.
The competition winner will complete a training and selection process between the 14th & 16th July, before joining the Ocean Warrior Resolute Expedition team for the leg from 10th to 21st September.
This is an expedition and not an adventure holiday. No previous sailing experience is required as full training will be given. You have to be over 18 years of age. All dates accommodate a contingency and are subject to weather and progress - updates will be given 3 weeks before and 1 week before embarkation. Terms & Conditions Apply.
