After a slow start to summer, the fishing has turned red hot over the last few weeks!
Yellowtail kingfish have turned up in big numbers this season, keeping both land and boat-based fishers busy. While most fish have been in the 50-70cm size a range, a few larger models have also been reported, which is very exciting!
Likewise, the Bass Strait bluefin tuna scene has really kicked into gear, with plenty of fishers rapt to catch these fish close to home, all along the northern coastline.
Check out the Tuna Champions website for all the best info on handling fish, caring for your catch, and minimising wastage. Even if you aren't fishing for tuna, it's worth checking out their site since most of the advice can be applied to other gamefish like yellowtail kingfish.
