Unlike other sailing leagues around Europe that count all races for their series championship, the Italian J/70 Sailing League has a "super final" with just the top seven teams that qualified from the previous four events in their summer series.

Hosted by the Yacht Club Rimini, the seven teams had an epic battle for the podium over a fifteen-race endurance marathon. After the smoke cleared on the battlefield, it was a "newcomer" that won the overall prize- Società Canottieri Garda Salò of Venice- with 48 pts total. Winning the silver with 53 pts was the Diporto Nautico Sistiana team. Rounding out the podium in third place was Compagnia Della Vela Venezia with 58 pts.

Robert de Felice, President of LIV commented, "everyone is happy, even the ones who didn't qualify for the top spots on the podium. We had amazing summer-like weather with 5-7 kts breezes. We had great enthusiasm from the regatta participants, an impeccable Race Committee, and knowledgeable international referees, in short, that was a great formula for success. This is the best of victories!"

Thanks to the participating Circles, Circolo Vela Bari, Circolo Canottieri Aniene, Marina di Rimini, the Yacht Club of Rimini, Sistiana boat department, Società Garda Saló, and the Venice Sailing Company, all the organizers and the Legavela Services for having made available the boat.
