2022 Freestyle Pro Tour Awards announced

The Freestyle Pro Tour is excited to announce the second ever FPT Awards! Coming to you on the 31st of January, the 2022 FPT Awards will celebrate the biggest achievements in our sport this year.

The FPT aims to push everyone (even you!) in their riding and media production through these awards, putting out a total of €5000 in prize money in 8 different categories. Submissions are already open so make sure to send in your clips and nominations for this year edition. The Awards will also crown the 2022 European Champions, as well as announce the 2022 Rookie of the Year. Read the details below and remember that the clock counting down the end of the year is already ticking!

Who can enter
You can. Anyone can. The competition is open to every windsurfer as long as the submission is freestyle, a freestyler or simply stylish!

Schedule
As the Awards will cover the whole of 2022 the deadline for submissions will be on the 31st of December. The Public vote for Best Move will start on the 7th of January 2023, with the Awards ceremony on the 31st of January 2023

Categories

For the 2022 Awards we accept moves, videos and nominations from December 2021 and the whole of 2022 only. The categories for the Awards and their prize money will be as follows:

  • Best Trick (men) - €500
  • Best Trick (women) - €500
  • Best New move - €500
  • Best Combo - €500
  • Most Improved Rider - €500
  • Stylemaster of the Year - €500
  • Best Video Part (as rider) - €1000
  • Best Freestyle Windsurf Edit (as Producer) - €1000

How to enter

So how do you take part? It's simple. Submit your video part, your move, your nomination or even just your inclusion as a rider within a video. If it fits the category or even more than one category then submit it for each and everyone. All we need is a link to where we can download it to include it within our final show (but that's all in the entry form link below). Please send us the original clips in the highest quality possible! Submissions for all categories are open immediately. You may submit moves, edits or nominate riders from the entirety of 2022 or December 2021.

Further explanation of the categories

Best Trick (men): The single best move that will be voted for in the build up to our main FPT Awards show. You may submit any move filmed this year, please submit the location and date of the move, plus move name and rider name. The move may be done on any type of windsurfing equipment.

Best Trick (women): The single best move that will be voted for in the build up to our main FPT Awards show. You may submit any move from this year, please submit the location and date of the move, plus move name and rider name. The move may be done on any type of windsurf equipment.

Best New Move: This category is for any new move within the past year. The move may be done on any type of windsurf gear.

Best Combo: The best combo move landed this year, meaning a minimum of two moves completed as one continuous manoeuvre. This can be an existing combo move or a new combo move.

Most Improved Rider: This will be awarded to a rider who has shown the most progression in the past year. A rider who has shot through the ranks or shown huge potential both at and away from events.

Stylemaster of the Year: Style matters. This award is for the most stylish rider or the most stylish move or moment 2022 has seen. You may nominate yourself or another person for this award. Please nominate the riders name, some examples or the move or moment of pure style that you feel deserves this award.

Best Video Part (as rider): This is for the best video or part of 2022 video, or a riders feature within a 2022 video. We will assess how progressive their approach to freestyle is, the locations and the post video Stoke factor we are left with. This award is for the rider only.

Best Freestyle Windsurf Edit (as Producer): This is for the most well produced/shot freestyle windsurfing video in 2022. The one that leaves us mind blown with impressive imagery, shots and locations. Submit your video links to us with the name of the producer and riders. This award is for the Producer and their efforts and contribution to freestyle windsurfing.
