Honda Marine powers into the new 2023 boating season with 'Sporty White', an exciting new range inspired by the iconic Honda Motor Racing colours which will appear on four Honda outboard engines including the BF250, 225, 200, and 150. First released in Italy in 2019 the range has proven successful and is now set to be released throughout Europe in Autumn 2022.

The manufacturing excellence applied to the refreshed Honda Marine engines is what drives the very same technology that powers Honda motor racing, gaining from years of proven Honda engineering, precision manufacturing and reliability. This cross-platform integration of technology enables rapid acceleration, illustrating Honda's commitment to high performance, fuel efficiency and environmental excellence for its customers is reflected in Honda's Sporty White Range.

Engineered to perform

The BF250, 225, 200, and 150 share the same impressive technology, such as the innovative iST technology (Intelligent Shift and Throttle) equipping owners with precise electronic engine response to control multiple engines with a single lever. The BF150 also has the option of Mechanical, a conventional analogue control. Thus, ensuring simple and effective operation for smooth, stress-free boating for whatever requirement you need.

The Sporty White engines offer VTEC™ (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control), BLAST™ (Boosted Low Speed Torque) System, and PGM-FI electronic fuel injection technology enabling rapid acceleration and incomparable performance. Paired with Honda's ECOmo system for efficient fuel economy and iST technology together to deliver precise and agile engine response.

The technological breakdown

At the core of the engine lies PGM-FI electronic fuel injection, this is what optimises BLAST™ and ECOmo to enable owners to reach optimal cruising speed all while ensuring fuel efficiency.

When the owner wants to accelerate quicker, BLAST™ ensures immediate response thanks to PGM-FI increasing the air to fuel ratio. The fuel consumption does not increase significantly despite the impressive power output. When you enter cruise mode, the engine automatically enters the ECOmo function of which reduces the quantity of petrol to air volume allowing you to reduce fuel consumption.

VTEC™ (available on the BF250, 225, and 150) provides a unique blend of power, torque, and efficiency at any speed optimising engine performance throughout the entire RPM range. Exemplifying Honda's commitment to providing our technological features across the range of outboard engines, so you never have to compromise on features across the horsepower range.

With impressive key features available from Honda's BF250, 225, 200, and 150, the outboard engines in Sporty White exude power and performance, paying homage to Honda's prestigious motor racing heritage.
