Viking 48 Convertible - Got the goods

by Viking Yachts 10 Nov 2022 07:23 AEDT

The Viking 48 Convertible thrives both as a cruising yacht for family and friends, and a sportfisher that's got the goods to win big on the tournament circuit.

The boat is big enough to hold three staterooms and two heads, but still sized right for two-person operation and maintenance.

Featured in this Viking View and scheduled to be delivered this month is Squid Chain (hull No. 39), sporting a Snow White gelcoat; faux teak toe rail and transom; and teak cockpit, mezzanine steps and covering boards.

A Seakeeper is installed in an engineered space in the lazarette, and the fishing accessories include a transom live well with glass window and interior light, and extra rod holders in the deckhouse haunches and cockpit corners. The cockpit will also receive a fighting chair, and our Make Ready Dock crew will perform a thorough final detailing before departure.

The master stateroom's queen-size walk-around bed with a Handcraft mattress ensures restful nights, and there is plenty of stowage available below the bed and in the maple-lined hanging locker and drawers.

With 1200MHP MAN V8 diesels, the Viking 48's engineroom shines as a showpiece of engineering, mechanical and electrical excellence.

The 48 boasts most of the mechanical and electrical systems and technology that you'll find on our larger convertibles, such as the Delta-T engineroom ventilation system, advanced sonar system, water maker and generator. Everything is expertly installed with meticulous attention to detail. The engineroom is brightly lit and blanketed with a Snow White Awlgrip for enhanced visibility and easier maintenance.

Owned by a young family, Squid Chain will hail out of North Carolina and spend its winters in Florida. Looking to get aboard the 48 Convertible? We'll have one at the Viking Yachts and Valhalla Boatworks VIP event Feb. 3-4, followed by the Miami International Boat Show Feb. 15-19.

For more information, please contact your authorized Viking dealer. Meantime, enjoy this 360-degree virtual tour of the 48 C.
