Rooster Southern Topper Autumn Traveller Series Overall

by Roger Cerrato 30 Oct 2022 23:25 PDT

This year's Series included 4 events held at venues across the South. After the first weekend at Hill Head SC we moved onto Portchester SC, followed by a trip inland to Oxford SC and the Series was rounded off at the traditional end of season event at Warsash SC.

Turnouts for each event were good culminating in a fantastic entry of 52 Toppers for the last weekend at Warsash!

With many of the previous season's 4.2 sailors electing to move up to a 5.3 for the Autumn Series Charles Wood from Warsash SC made the most of his opportunity and discarded a 2nd to count 3 x 1st places for a convincing series win. Henry Noel in 2nd and Megan Cerrato in third made it a clean sweep for Warsash SC sailors in the 4.2 fleet.

Series results in the 5.3 fleet were much closer with recent 5.3 convert Jake Davies from Warsash SC making a late charge to secure the series win from Henry Martin from Portchester SC. Third in the Series was another Warsash sailor recently converted from the 4.2, Ethan Rhodes.

Double Olympic medalist and Volvo Ocean Race skipper Ian Walker presented the well deserved prizes to the successful sailors. Full prize winner list as follows:
