With the Fireball fleet celebrating 60 years this year, there have been some excellent events over the course of the year and some very competitive and close racing. Its been wonderful to see so many boats travelling around to clubs that welcomed the fleet with open arms and put on some superb racing.

In the same vein as all other events this year, it is with great pleasure that as we head into October we are able to look forward the 2022 Gul Inland Nationals, incorporating the Final Golden Dolphin Open event of the year at Draycote Water.

Draycote Water, suitably situated in the middle of the country for ease, is one of the many 'friends of the fleet' clubs, who are very friendly to visitors and well practised in putting on some stunning racing over the course of a weekend event.

Its been a remarkable year for the Fireball, with boats both old and new attending events, and with close racing across the whole fleet there is wide range of reasons to come along to the Gul Inlands - Its probably also worth mentioning that we are very fortunate to have our sponsors, Gul, provide us with a range of gift vouchers as part of the prizes!

The Gul Inlands will be a 6 race series with the first race signal on 8th October 12:25, and races 2 & 3 following swiftly after. The weekend is being shared with the 505 fleet, who clearly want to come and see how it's done properly, both sailing and socialising!

The clubhouse will be open from 08:30 each day with food available until 15:00 with the bar open from 12:00 until at least 18:00. There is a wide range of local accommodation for you to stay in, with a Travelodge or two not far away. See draycotewater.co.uk/sailing-events/visitor-information

Online entry is now available and for the two days is a very reasonable £55 (discounted if booked before 29th September) so why not come along of a weekend of good racing and socialising!

We look forward to seeing everyone there. Online Entry, SI, NOR and more information is available at draycotewater.co.uk/events/fireball-open-2
