Bula! The Fijian way to say hello. Welcome to the First annual Fiji Pro Invitational.

Riders have arrived and are getting accustomed to their new home for the next 12 days or so. The first thing everyone wanted to do was to go see the event site, Cloudbreak! There are many islands and beautiful waves everywhere, but Cloudbreak is THE break. It is located a short boat ride from the mainland, which is where competitors and staff are staying.

Thank you to our hosts at the Bayview Cove Resort. The early arrivals have scored a couple fun surf sessions, with particularly small waves for Fiji, but still glassy perfection. The forecast is for all of that to change as the competition window progresses, with a couple good swells and trade-winds filling in. While we all wait for the real action to start, here are a few moments from the first few days, on island and in the water.

Tomorrow, Aug. 20 is the official opening Ceremony, and Day 1 of the Event window. Stay tuned to our Social media channels, and website updates for the latest news on the action.
