The Classic Yachts Challenge Series (CYCS) will kick off this month with the 168th New York Yacht Club Annual Regatta June 10th - 12th in Newport, Rhode Island.

The Tiedemann Classics Regatta re-debuted last year but this year, the Trophy will be incorporated into the Annual Regatta. This event is open to all boats sailing under CRF as modified by the NYYC Classics Rule and is the first in the RI/CT/NY division.

The goal is to get one to two navigator courses per day on Saturday and Sunday sending the boats around Narragansett Bay. Friday the 10th features the "The Around the Island Race" but it does not count as part of the CYCS or the NYYC Annual Regatta.

At the time of this writing, nine classics are registered including last year's Tiedemann Vintage class winner, Onawa and the overall Vintage CYCS winner, Marilee. Other familiar names will also join the lineup including Angelita, Dorade, Leaf, and Wild Horses. Abigail and Marionette will also be participating ahead of their Bermuda Race start later in the same week.

After the Annual Regatta, the next CYCS event will the be Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club Regatta and Shipyard Cup Classics Challenge on July 23 - 24, 2022.
