Raise a sail and a glass to Liberté, Égalité and Fraternité at the Queensland French Yacht Owners Association Inc inaugural 2022 Bastille Day Race on Saturday July 16th supported by the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron.

On July 14, 1789, Parisian hordes stormed the Bastille prison, signalling the beginning of the French Revolution. It's become a national holiday in France, celebrating the formation of the French republic.

In Queensland it's a great excuse for French boat owners and crew to partake of the best that our French friends have produced: racing fabulous French yachts, eating copious baguettes and cheese, drinking French wine and crying "Bonjour!" "Oh là là" and "Sacré bleu" with wild abandon on and off the water.

Open to all ALL French designed monohulls event activities include:

  • 1 x passage race
  • 3 Divisions: Rally, Cruising Spinnaker and Performance
  • Best dressed "French Themed" boat and crew
  • Après race activities including onshore games & informal BBQ at the RQYS Red Facilities Building
Join us on Moreton Bay for a relaxed and social sailing celebration of all things French.

See link to Notice of Race details. Entries close at 1500 hours on Tuesday 12 July 2022.
