Salcombe Yacht Club Midweek Series - Race 1

by John Burn 30 Apr 2022 02:36 PDT

Scud, acting Race Officer, set a course of 3-1-3-2 which turned out to be the perfect length for these shorter midweek races. It was close racing from the off in this mixed handicap fleet, but it was David Greening in his Solo who came out on top for the victory.

Leading the entire race, Rob Henderson and Alice Markham in the RS200, finished second on corrected time. After an untimely capsize on the final downwind leg, John Burn in a Laser managed to recover and finished third.

Geoff and Gail Allen, in the rescue boat, were kept on their toes with a few capsizes to keep them, and onlookers, entertained.

Thank you to Scud and his team, a great start to this ever more popular evening series.
