NOSA will be hosting its next sailing seminar on Thursday, March 10 at Del Rey Yacht Club. The start time for this in-person event is 7 p.m.

In preparation for the annual Newport to Ensenada International Yacht Race, which sails April 22, 2022, these annually presented seminars are perfect for those looking for night sailing tips, provisioning ideas, and weather strategies for a fun, safe, and trophy-winning race. The content is particularly helpful for newcomers to the race, those who rarely sail overnight, or south to Mexico.

Other topics presented include sail change strategies, best safety precautions and best practices for overnight crew management, and how to enter the Storm Trysail Club Team Racing competition.

More than 90 yachts have already entered for this, NOSA's 75th anniversary year. Four double-handed crews are looking to challenge eight-time winner Problem Child, while two all-female entries will be vying for the coveted Caroline Starr Trophy. More than 200 boats are expected to participate.

Prominent MDR entries returning include Ron Orr's Fast ReOrg, Brian Kerr's Double Down, and John Staff's Obsidian.

Don't get left at the dock. Won't you join us?

Registration is open and it's time to enter!

The last seminar of the year, an in-person and Zoom event will be held at Dana Point Yacht Club on March 31.

Zoom and in-person participants can register early at nosa.org/seminars and look for the broadcast link.

As we enter into our 75th year, NOSA is once again going all out to host a spectacular, memorable, and competitive race.

It's always been a hybrid; a just-for-fun event where friends and family connect on the water and as well as a competitive race for sailors of all skill levels; sharing their love of the ocean, the sport, and coastal racing.

N2E racers can choose one of three courses. The sprint to Dana Point, the half marathon to San Diego, and the classic - all-time favorite course to Ensenada, Mexico.
