by Beverley Hart 19 Sep 2021 22:59 PDT

Pendennis recently announced the appointment of Miquel À. Lliteras Fleixas as General Manager of their Mediterranean operations at both Vilanova Grand Marina, Barcelona and the adjoining Technical Service Centre at Pendennis Vilanova from the 4th October 2021.

Specifically, his role will involve him having full responsibility for ensuring efficient working practices, sustainability and profitability of the installations of Pendennis in Vilanova. All of which will be critical in building the company's excellent reputation with the Spanish authorities, customers and strategic partners.

Miquel trained as a Naval Architect Engineer and began his professional career within the superyacht industry in 1999 at MB92 in Barcelona where he held senior positions including Project Manager, Yard Master and Operations Manager before finally being appointed Shipyard Manager as well as a member of the Group's Management Committee. As part of this role, he became involved in the expansion of the MB92 Group in La Ciotat. Following his departure from MB92 he has most recently served as the Business Development Manager at Evolution Yachts, one of the leading agencies in the yacht sector.

Pendennis' Joint Managing Director Mike Carr commented on Miquel's appointment "We are very pleased to welcome Miquel to our leadership team. His 22 years of experience in the Superyacht refit & repair business will strengthen our existing highly skilled team in the Mediterranean and broaden our reach into the local supply chain."

Finally, Miquel backed up Mike's comments regarding his new appointment by adding "I look forward to welcoming everyone to my new home; which I hope will also become the trusted home for many clients, friends and colleagues in the industry."

"It is a great honour to be part of the Pendennis family and take on the exciting challenge of making Vilanova Grand Marina, Barcelona and Pendennis Vilanova a reference destination for Superyachts in the Mediterranean."
