The conditions on Saturday were good, with an offshore north easterly of around 7 knots, gusting around 11 at the start of the racing. However, the wind was shifty and challenging at times and later on it swung round to more of an Easterly. RO Guy Mayger recorded the wind from 020 degrees through to 120 degrees and back(!), so a fun day on the committee boat!

Square/Trapezoid courses were set with the Teras sailing their course inside that of the Aeros who shared the Open meeting.

In the first and second races Ben Anderson, from Gurnard SC made good starts and stayed well ahead throughout the race, with Josh James from Felpham in second place, both in Tera Pros. George Long was slower in the first two races and overtaken by Harry Sight at one point. Tristan Harding sailed well for the second race in a Tera Sport, finishing in second place.

After the second race a sudden rain squall came over but luckily passed and the sun came out again. The wind then picked up slightly before the next race started.

In the third race George Long had a good start and was in second place for nearly two laps but was then overtaken by Ben Anderson with a very tight finish.

The wind dropped slightly but picked up again for the final race. As it turned out, Finlay Geri had had a blinder of a race and was miles in front of the fleet, so Ben was actually second and George third.

For the final race of the day there was a close start from the whole fleet and with most heading left or sticking to the middle of the windward leg it led to some close racing but Ben Anderson sailed ahead and took his third victory of the day, followed by Mia Richards and Josh James from Felpham SC.

Overall, it was a really good turnout and great/challenging sailing conditions, no capsizes that I was aware of, and fantastic results with Ben Anderson from Gurnard in a Tera Pro deservedly taking first place overall, followed by Tristan Harding of Frensham Pond SC, and George Long in third place from Felpham in a Tera Pro.
