The first day of the final series could not have had a better start. Many changes to the provisional general, good wind conditions and close racing have been some of the ingredients today, starting with a limp 6 knot east wind, reaching 12-14 in the last race.

The French duo of Keo Devaux and Enael Rio once again lead the provisional ranking, as they did after qualifying, but now they do so in the gold group in the final series, achieving a boost and advantage towards the title. The French began their journey with race wins, heralding that it was going to be a great day for them, but they stayed at the gates. In the last race, with stronger winds, they did not manage to place higher than 16th, making their total 25 points.

Four points behind are Ian and Noah Nyennhuis, one of the big favourites for the title. The Americans had a day almost the opposite of the French, starting badly with a 14th place, then a 4th and ending with a brilliant race victory.

Compatriots Anton Schmid and Peter Joslin finished with 4-7-8 race results are on 35 points.

The local crew of Quicorra Urios and Filippo Benetti finally stood out with a 5th in the first race of the day, and a 3rd in the last. In the second, a 14th place has deprived them of being somewhat higher than that 5th place they occupy at the end of the day. The Spanish-Italian pair are on 40 points, and although gold and silver are far away, the options for bronze are much closer.

Regarding the under 17s, Hugo Revil and Karl Devaux (France) occupy first place, followed by the Germans pair of Carl Kruase and Max Georgi and the locals Mateo and Simón Codoñer. In the Women's ranking Martina Lodos and Martina Díaz-Salguero (RCN Gran Canaria) occupy first place.

Tomorrow, Monday 30, the second day of the final series will be held, with the start of the first race of the day scheduled for 1pm.
