While we are closed with this extended lockdown, we are taking the opportunity to refresh the inside of the club. This includes repainting the interior and installing LED lighting throughout.

Whilst we are nearing the end of this work, unfortunately, we had a covid positive contractor at the Club as part of these renovations. A painter was onsite on Tuesday morning for a few hours. On Wednesday he felt ill and went for a covid test. A positive test result came back late on Thursday morning. Three others during that period on Tuesday morning are deemed close contacts and have test results pending while they isolate for 2 weeks. All were wearing masks, and socially distanced with work isolated to the dining room area.

The cafe staff are deemed casual contacts. They have gone for their tests, and should have their results shortly. In the meantime, the cafe is closed until we are advised by NSW Health that it is ok to reopen. We are hopeful for a minimal interruption.

Please, as members of the community, continue to observe all of the NSW Public Health Orders. It is encouraging to see a very high level of compliance with mask wearing and QR Code use around Double Bay and in particular at the 18s Cafe.

All indications by NSW Health/Club NSW point to when we are allowed to reopen the Bar and Restaurant, all of our staff, members, and visitors will all need to be fully vaccinated to enter the premises. The staff will be fully vaccinated by the end of September in readiness for opening hopefully in October. I encourage all members to get vaccinated as soon as practical so that when we do reopen, you can come in and once again enjoy all that our fantastic club has to offer.
