Special Event to launch 2021's PIC Coastal Classic

Starry Night Cocktail Gala is one of the new events planned around this year's PIC Coastal Classic © PIC Coastal Classic

As one of a few new additions to the PIC Coastal Classic yacht race this year, the NZ Multihull Yacht Club and PIC Insurance Brokers are pleased to announce the event’s inaugural cocktail gala event: Starry Night.

Sailors, supporters and friends of the PIC Coastal Classic are invited to Auckland’s iconic Eden Park on Friday 30th July to celebrate in style, and support the Starship Foundation with a sailing-themed silent auction with thanks to our generous network of event sponsors.

Tickets are on sale now, via this link

Anybody who has done the race will agree that there’s nothing quite like sailing into the darkness of Russell at the end of the race, finishing under the stars and celebrating well into the next night after prize giving. To bring a piece of this atmosphere down to Auckland and share it with our network and your partners and friends, PIC Insurance Brokers have hired one of the most popular bands from a recent afterparty – it will be a night not to be missed!

The PIC Coastal Classic has transformed into more than a yacht race both metaphorically and literally. For many New Zealanders the event is a yachting rite of passage and labour weekend tradition for nearly 40 years. The popularity of the non-competitive 36° Cruising Rally division added three years ago has shown us that you want more than a yacht race, and the event will soon reveal the next expansion into the boating community.

What, where, when etc:

Friday 30 July, 7pm

Eden Park (Gate G)

Dress Code: Smart

Tickets $70 per person ($60 for NZMYC Members).
