Race Briefing

Two things happen at Race Briefing  

1) You need to register and pick up your skippers pack. A new addition to the pack this year is Visto containers - perfect storage for all those quiches, pies & bacon sarnies you will be chowing down on.

2) Our race director will give you the low down on comms etc following by the FORECAST from PredictWind.  A very important aspect of the race.

You can make your coastal prep a little easier with click-and-collect takeaway food and drinks from the RNZYS. Order your race essentials including ice, rum and snacks made to eat with one hand while trimming! Coffee and breakfast will also be available at Lighthouse & RNZYS from 6am on race day. Fly the flag for PIC Insurance Brokers

PIC Insurance Brokers have been with us all the way and are amazing supporters of this race.  If youre looking for an insurance company then look no further house, boat, bach, car, they can do anything. They are also supplying some great items for the skippers crew bags - think beanies, sail ties and flags.  Show your support by hoisting their small flags anywhere on your boat that is visible especially at the start and in Russell.  Wed like to capture some shots.

Doyle Sails welcome drink

Doyles knows you would have battled the elements to reach this epic event in Russell, and that's why they are going to put a bit more wind in your sails by hosting a Happy Hour at the Nauti Penguin (or that could be half hour!).  Yip, thats right, the FIRST ROUND of drinks for the FIRST 200 people is on them!

So, set your alarms, give yourself enough time to get your water taxi, gather your crew and be at the Nauti Penguin by 6pm sharp, to celebrate your arrival.

In honor of Line 7's 60 years in the game, they've decided to crank up the fun factor at the Nauti Penguin in Russell! Get ready to seize the vibes with your mates and snap some unforgettable moments in their photobooth. You can share the pics with your pals and relive the epic evening!

Rugby

If all goes well, we may be watching a Rugby World Cup semi-final with the All Blacks in it!  if they are, kick off is at 8am on Saturday morning. The Nauti Penguin will be open at 7am for breakfast with the Hell Hole serving up some Breakfast Burgers from 5am. Another semi-final kicks off at 8am on Sun morning.  Which brings us to Water Taxis .

Water Taxis

Friday 5pm to Sunday 10.00 am

VHF Channel 8

With only one water taxi operator in Paihia we have to bring up a water taxi from Auckland. This means ONE taxi will operate throughout the weekend with TWO water taxis operating during peak times.  

PEAK TIMES - Saturday 21 Oct 

7am - Nauti Penguin opens

8am - RWC kick off. 

6pm - Doyles 1st 200 drinks celebration

7pm -  Prizegiving/Afterparty

1.30am - Conclusion of evening 

PLEASE PLAN YOUR TRIPS as it could take you anywhere between 20 minutes and 45 minutes, especially during peak times. Don't leave it to the last minute.
