22nd Biograd Boat Show - Day 1

by BBS Team 24 Oct 2020 00:25 PDT 21-25 October 2020

The 22nd Biograd Boat Show, organized and hosted by Ilirija d.d, opened its doors under sunny skies with over 240 registered exhibitors and only slightly fewer vessels that 2019's record show despite the challenging environment. Held at Ilirija's Four Anchor, Marina Kornati, Croatia's third largest, it spans both the north and west marines joined together with a pontoon bridge, and displays vessels ranging from 2- 20 m.

The show is the third and last major boat to be held in Europe in the Second half of 2020, and has shown remarkable resilience from both exhibitors and visitors, maintaining its status as Central Europe's largest in-water show, and showcases the importance and strength of the Croatian nautical sector.

The show meets and exceeds the guidelines established by the Zadar County Civil Headquarters and the Public Health Department, and includes additional steps such as free masks for all visitors.

The lifting of German, Austrian, and Slovenian travel restrictions to Zadar County has significantly increased attendance of international visitors, and strengthened the international component of the show.

The Biograd Boat Show is known for the festive atmosphere of Biograd, but the legendary entertainment program has been adjusted to fit the reality of this year's challenges. Visitors requiring Covid 19 testing can do so in the Lobby of The Hotel Adriatic in Biograd on Friday, Oct. 23rd from 11am-2pm, and on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 24thand 25th from 12pm-3pm.

Thanks to the support of the City of Biograd and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the Croatian Tourist Board, the Biograd "B2B", business networking event is in full swing, incorporating video chat meetings for digital visitors. The 4th Croatian Chamber of Commerce Nautical Days has begun its extensive congress program which has been extended to three days (from 21 to 23 October) and brings together marine associations, government agencies, and private companies.

As part of Biograd B2B, the Croatia Charter Expo, located in Hall D at marina Kornati West, and on pier 14 is has begun, and is one of the world's most important events for the yacht charter industry. The exhibiting charter companies have more than 1600 yachts under direct management, and are meeting with charter brokers and suppliers.

As a Gold Member of the International Federation of Boat Show organizers, Ilirija d.d. has taken the most professional health and safety measures, and would like to thank all visitors in advance for understanding and adhering to all epidemiological measures, which will be clearly provided at the show entrances.
