Announcing the start of GKA Youth Kite World Tour

We're extremely excited to announce the start of the GKA Youth Kite World Tour!

This is a chance for the hottest, up and coming young riders in the world to make their name in kitesurfing! Categories will be be girls / boys U14, U16, U19 and U21.

The first event is the GKA Youth Freestyle World Cup Saint-Pierre la-mer, in France. Some of the largest events in junior kitesurfing have been held at this location over the last decade and 2020 is set to be the biggest year yet, with an expected record number of international athletes participating.

Registration will open on the 24th March, you can find the registration form here

The second confirmed event will be the GKA Youth Freestyle World Cup Italy, at Prokite Alby Rodina, a spot with perfect flat water and great wind statistics.

Another confirmed event is the GKA Youth Freestyle World Cup Egypt, in El-Gouna. With warm flat shallow water this spot has previously played host to both Freestyle and Big-Air championships.

A fourth event, yet to be confirmed, will be held in Tarifa, Spain.

  • The GKA sanctions events which are fulfilling specific requirements (using the GKA rulebook, following the rules and regulations of World Sailing, guarantee safety of the riders and have an experienced judge-panel) as Youth World Cups
  • The GKA will run an overall ranking of all sanctioned events with the purpose to crown a Youth World Champion at the end of the season
  • The GKA does media exposure of the respective events and the tour.
  • The GKA includes the tour and the events in the GKA Kite World Tour Webpage.
