The check has cleared, we have a slip in the new section of the Miami Yacht Show. This will be the first public showing of "First Edition." All those interested in an electrified Aquila 44 or the electrification of similarly sized cats are encouraged to attend this reveal!

Designs, renderings, pictures, videos, speed and range projections, all important but nothing compares to standing on the yacht. Furthermore, before and after the show are opportunities to cruise with us. Since space is limited, please contact me if you would like to buy in the next 6 months.

2020 - 2030 will be the decade of hybrid Powercats. These yachts can do MORE than diesel ever could. They will travel farther, and they will provide owners with more enjoyment. It's not an electric motor for the sake of being electric. It's full electric system that gathers power while at sea. The wide stable base of a catamaran allows for a large solar array. At a particular size this array is sufficient for all house needs, going larger changes the yacht to something sailors always had, unlimited range.

Electricity is akin to blood and it moves through the yacht powering all organs. This electricity is stored in both high voltage batteries and a low voltage house bank. The two battery banks can send power back and forth as needed. These battery banks are charged in multiple ways; Shore charging, Solar, Wind Turbines, Hydrogeneration and the work horse of the previous hundred years, a diesel generator. With little to no conscious planning, the captain would be all electric for a single day operation. For longer passages, the generator will kick on and provide a range similar to that of its diesel counterparts. Slow things down a bit, spend another day or so at every island you visit and the range balloons to places unseen by diesel power cats.
