School holiday fishing clinics in Tasmania

Looking for an activity to get the kids out of doors these school holidays?

Free fishing clinics are being held in January at local jetties around the state from Dover to St Helens to Devonport. All ages and abilities are welcome.

New fishers learn basic skills like setting up a rod, casting, how to measure your catch and to fish responsibly. Rods and gear are provided.

Bought your licence yet?

Don't leave buying your licence to the last minute this festive season, even if you're buying it online. Only major Service Tasmania shops will be open for business during the Christmas period.

Licences can be purchased now at Service Tasmania or online at fishing.tas.gov.au/licence.

The Recreational Fishing Section, Wild Fisheries Management Branch will be closed from 3:00 pm, 24 December 2019 until 2 January 2020.
