The wind decided to take its time filling in today on the Bay of Paracas. Sailors scheduled to start racing at 12:00 were postponed onshore until the Race Committee called it just after 3 pm.

While most sailors weren't able to compete today, the skiff's had the chance to sneak one race in at the end of the day.

It's off to a great start for the 49er crew, Alexander Heinzemann and Justin Barnes. Placing 3rd after the only race of the day, this duo led the pack for most of the race, leaving Canada amongst the top 3 boats after day 1. They comment, "the conditions were perfect, 8knots, very consistent, with some bigger shifts. We're very happy with where we stand going into day 2, and we look forward to more racing."

Completing one race right after their fellow teammates were 49erFX crew, Ali Ten Hove and Mariah Millen. Coming in 4th, the team comments: "racing was very close, but we're very happy to have had the opportunity to get a race in today. We are excited to keep pushing forward throughout the rest of the week!"
