28 teams take part in 2018 Yachting Rus Cup Garda Trophy

On Tuesday, on the Italian Lake Garda, the traditional regatta of the oldest and largest Russian-speaking community Yachting Rus started.

Yachting Rus Cup is the international competition included in the official calendar of the Italian Sailing Federation.

Competitions will be held in the format of races in two one-designs; J/80 and J/70. Every day, sailors expect a short racing of 4-6 miles with direct refereeing on the water. By tradition, the umpire team headed by Italian Luca Babini (Ampire Cup of America in 2005-2006) and the Olympic Games in London in 2012.

In all classes the teams are divided into two groups: Alpha and Bravo, the winners of which will go to the gold fleet and will fight for the main prize - the rolling Cup 'Garda Trophy'.

More than 140 sailors from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Krasnodar, Gelindzhik, Tuapse, Taganrog, Minsk, Kiev, Amsterdam, Tallinn, Nice, Helsinki, London gathered in the Italian yacht club Fraglia Vela Riva in the city of Riva Del Garda. In total 28 teams take part in the regatta.

The participants of the Yachting Rus Cup are waiting for five intense racing days, a real fight on the water, fine Italian cuisine and daily parties.
