The Viaduct Harbour is busy this week with the Auckland On Water Boat Show, including a number of vessels coming and going with keen boat fans onboard for trials.

One of the things that makes the Auckland On Water Boat Show unique is being able to get onboard some boats for sea trial to experience how they move and perform. Check out the list below of boats which will be available to head out on the water for a trial during the show. We recommend you get in touch with the companies below to pre-arrange a time as sea trials are always in high demand.

Sealegs available for trial

Enjoy less hassle and more fun with one of Sealegs’ most popular models; the Sealegs 7.1m Sport RIB is one of the brand’s most popular models for amphibious boating fun.

Marco Boats 650 comes alive on the water

As part of its display, Marco Boats will have its 650 Sou’wester available for sea trials throughout the show. It’s equipped with one of the latest model lean burn Suzuki engines, as well as a huge Garmin electronics package including two 12” touchscreens, radar and auto pilot.

Sports Marine presents the Boston Whaler 285 Conquest

Boston Whaler has delivered for decades what no other boat can. When boats were expect- ed simply to float, Boston Whaler proved they could be unsinkable. Where most fishing boats lack comfort, and most pleasure boats lack fishing features, Boston Whaler proves you can have both at the most premium level. See it for yourself with Sports Marine in the Marina.

The full Blackdog Cat experience on the water

Blackdog Cat uses on-water experiences to show customers the unique features that set its boats apart from the mono-hull boats they are used to. The design of Blackdog Cat boats results in stability and durability for versatile, agile boats.

Makaira boats

The 670 Makaira Boats will be available for sea trial. With the 8mm hull, fully welded under- floor structure, and designed using naval architectural software, performing full weight study before production, nothing is left to chance.

Kev & Ian’s Stabicraft 2400 Supercab

Called The Provider, this boat has been setup to ‘provide all you need’ and is powered by a Evinrude E-TEC G2 250 high output outboard engine. The 2400 Supercab features have been designed for a game fishing family and is great for overnighting and a weekend away. The lockup cabin has a gas cooker and an electric toilet with privacy curtain and there’s a Lowrance HDS 12 Carbon Fishfinder, Radar to get you on the fish and Fusion stereo with many speakers for your entertainment.

An admirable ten metre cruiser

This Kiwi-built luxury cruiser from Admiral Boats NZ has been hand-sculpted to be both func- tional and aesthetically-pleasing. She’ll be on display at the show and available for sea trials to really give you a sense of how this boat caters to everything from sports fishing, to diving, to a boat for the family to head away on.

The show is in its 20th year and is New Zealand’s largest on-water boat show. It’s also the last year the show will be held in the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre for the foreseeable future. The show finishes on Sunday 30th September, and on Tuesday 2nd October the centre will be turned over to Emirates Team New Zealand as they begin to create their headquarters for their Cup campaign.

From next year the show will shift slightly to spread around the Viaduct Harbour, creating a buzzing atmosphere in the heart of Auckland’s marine precinct.
