Australia's plans in league sailing are getting off to a fast start. The country will establish its National Sailing League in 2019.

Also the plans regarding a boat park are in full swing: A wide J/70 environment is being established in Australia. At the moment, chances are good that we will see an Australian team participating in SAILING Champions League 2019. These raging developments in Australia may be the beginning of league sailing throughout Oceania.

The board of the Australian league is already set:

  • Howard Elliott (Sydney): Legal – Politics – Promotion
  • Mark Turnbull (Melbourne): Project Management – Logistics
  • Scott Llewelyn (Melbourne): Sponsor – Marketing

This group already has a very close network into the Member National Authority "Australian Sailing".

Howard Elliott is firmly convinced that Australian Sailing will welcome league sailing very much as it fits well with the three-point strategy Australian Sailing works with: "High Performance Sailing", "Members, Youth, Education" and "Clubs".
