"There are plenty of 30-metre yachts out there, but most are production boats and none of them offer quite the same volume and degree of customisation or bespoke design features," says Alia President Gökhan Çelik. "There's nothing quite like her in her size on the market."
With bold exterior design by the Dutch studio Omega Architects and sophisticated interior styling by UK-based Redman Whitely Dixon, Virgen del Mar VI offers ample open-air spaces for dining, lounging and sunbathing on the main deck aft and 50 sq/m fly deck behind the raised pilothouse with fully-integrated bridge.
The interior design, based on a palette of light oak and dark sycamore with hand-cast bronze detailing, is fresh and airy. The overall tone is one of casual elegance, dappled in natural light and reflections off the water thanks to full-height, wrap-around windows.
The 22.5 sq/m master stateroom on the main deck has two glass doors on either side for access to a private forward terrace, while cutouts in the bulwarks both fore and aft increase the sea views from the main salon and owner's suite. There are four spacious guests cabins (two doubles and two singles) on the lower deck.
To date Alia Yachts has focused on custom production, but Gökhan Çelik points out that Virgen del Mar VI's enthusiastic reception by owners and brokers has convinced the shipyard to expand the technical platform into a mini series.
"Virgen del Mar VI started as a one-off project, but we have Letters of Intentto build further units with fully customisable interiors,"he says. "We're also developing a 37-metre and 50-metre version based on the same platform."
Alia Yachts was founded in 2008 by Gökhan Çelik, together with his business partner Ömer Koray. Its purpose-built facilities are equipped for cutting-edge yacht construction in carbon-reinforced composites, steel and aluminium. Virgen del Mar VIis the shipyard's 10th delivery in a fleet ranging in size from 24.5 to 60 metres.
The shipyard also has its own dedicated furniture factory, which has expanded to supply bespoke interiors to other yacht builders as far away as Western Australia. "Our furniture facility has really taken off and we're now supplying shipyards around the world,"says Çelik."We're very proud, for example, to have built the custom interiors for 84-metre White Rabbit, which was recently launched by Echo Yachts in Perth."
