July will see the foiling Moth fleet descend on Thorpe Bay, Essex for four days of racing in the beautiful estuary of the River Thames. The fleet will be chomping at the bit, especially those who travelled to Bermuda for the World Championship, only to have the majority of the days abandoned due to either too much or too little breeze.

There is free camping and car parking on site and, thanks to the fantastic title sponsors Noble Marine and Allen Sailing, a free bacon roll and coffee in the morning, pasta and beer when signing off and an evening meal on the first two days of the event. The final day barbeque, prize giving and closing party will also feature the WetsuitOutlet.co.uk Happy Hour! What more could you want?

If you're one of the many people who would love to be sailing a foiling Moth or are simply fascinated by the continuing developments in the class, then Mark Jardine and Beau Outteridge will be posting daily reports, photos, videos, interviews and features throughout the event.

New boats, designs, innovations and home-builds will be taking part and we'll make sure all the news of these will be highlighted throughout the event.

The fleet is one of the friendliest around and if you have a foiling Moth but haven't competed in an open event, or are considering joining the fleet, then the Nationals is the place to do it. A couple of tips from the top sailors will soon see you flying for longer and completing more manoeuvres without splashing down. It could well be the best time on and off the water you can spend improving your sailing!

"Noble Marine are delighted to be sponsoring the International Moth National Championship at Thorpe Bay.", said Noble Marine's Phil Kilburn, "For many years Noble Marine have had a strong relationship with the International Moth Class Association. It is always of great interest to us discovering the latest developments in the class and having the opportunity to watch these sophisticated flying machines race."

Managing Director of Allen Brothers, Liz Adams, commented "The International Moth has always been at the forefront of sailing, requiring hardware that keeps up with the demands of the ever-changing concepts and designs."

Liz then went on to say, "We are proud to be a sponsor of the Moth Nationals as we know our hardware meets the needs of the sailors, not only in build quality and reliability but in looks and style too!"

Racing takes place from 11th-14th July with three races scheduled each day. The prize giving will feature over £1500 of equipment from the generous sponsors. To further encourage participation prizes will mostly be awarded to sailors competing in their first Moth Nationals and those racing with a single sail and set of foils checked in for the event.

2018 is the 90th Anniversary Year of the International Moth class and it would be great to see a huge turnout to mark the occasion. There are still some sponsorship opportunities available for daily pasta and beer and for one of the evening meals. If your company is interested in becoming involved with the event then please contact .

The Notice of Race is now available and you can submit your entry to . Early-bird entry for the first 35 boats, and for overseas entries, is £135 and then £145 for others. Entry after 9th July is £155.
