The 2018 South Shore Yacht Club Queen's Cup Week is just around the corner. Time to get your entry submitted before the slips in Grand Haven are sold out!
This year is the 80th running for one of the oldest trophies in yacht racing. It was originally awarded to the sloop Sylvie from New York in the Royal Yacht Squadron Regatta of Cowes, England in 1853... become part of a rich history... enter today.
On-line entry is open for the 2018 Queen's Cup Race and the entries are coming in fast. The entry form, NOR and other race documents can be found on our website under the Queen's Cup tab.
The race is open to all boats with a 2018 LMPHRF handicap certificate or a valid ORR certificate or class measurement certificate. We welcome any one-design entries, multi-hulls, shorthanded sailors and a cruising fleet.
Plans are underway to make the 2018 Queen's Cup Race a success ashore and afloat. We have an awesome party planned for Thursday June 21st with great food and entertainment. This year's band is The Sentinels. These guys will get the place rockin' from the first song and keep the party on its feet right to the end of the last set.
The 2018 Queen's Cup will finish in Grand Haven, MI with Grand Haven Sailing Club hosting what promises to be a great weekend. Slips are still available in the Grand Haven Marina. Reservations are on a first paid registration, first served basis. Once the slips have been filled, every effort will be made to fit boats into a slip with other boats, or at the end of the dock depending on size. When the marina is at capacity, boats will be docked on the seawall rafting off up to 3 deep. GRSC has made arrangements to install wave boards to help protect boats along the wall.
Looking forward to seeing you at the 2018 SSYC Queen's Cup.
