Plan now to join the fleet for the time-honored tradition of sailing the Queen's Cup Race. The 86th sailing of this overnight race is brought to you by South Shore Yacht Club and sails across Lake Michigan from Milwaukee, WI, to Muskegon, MI, on June 27th, 2025.
Competitors navigate approximately 66 nautical miles, often contending with shifting winds and varying weather conditions on the open waters of Lake Michigan. Sailors compete for the chance to win one of the oldest trophies in yacht racing.
The event is not only a competition but also a celebration of camaraderie and the enduring spirit of sailing tradition. Be on the starting line for a sailing experience that is a highlight of the summer sailing season.

The event
- The Queen's Cup Race is open to boats of the MWPHRF, ORC, GLMAR, and one-design classes that meet the entry requirements.
- One design starts are available and encouraged for any class with a minimum of 6 boats
- A shorthanded start will take place for monohull boats with a limit of 2 crew members, and a minimum of 5 boats
- A multi-hull start will take place with a minimum of 5 boats
- Cruising fleet starts are available for those choosing to sail with a jib and main only, with a minimum of 10 boats
- Yellow Brick Tracking and Nautical Cloud race management will be used

Milwaukee, WI to Muskegon, MI, with a compass heading of approximately 80 degrees true and a distance of approximately 65.7 nautical miles.
Thursday, June 26th
- Registration 10:00a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Queen's Cup Party 6:00 p.m.- 11:00 p.m.
Friday June 27th
- Registration 8:30a.m.- 1:00 p.m. Cruising fleet, 8:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. other fleets
- Staggered starts beginning late afternoon (cruising sections start earlier)
Saturday, June 28th
- Fleet arrives in Muskegon with post-race activites hosted by Muskegon Yacht Club
- Enjoy the MYC party as well as trolley service to local establishments and the ferry
