So wrote Damon Wise in the Radio Times, and it kind of sums up the second of the films about the late Donald Crowhurst. If the first, The Mercy, was more about his relationship with his wife Clare and their family, then Simon Rumley's , Crowhurst, is much more about what happens when the black dog takes hold of the mind. Even the trailer is enough to make you tingle, cringe, and maybe even have a dry reach!

Equally, Justin Salinger in the lead role is so believable, as to be bordering on his own committal.

Donald's son, Simon Crowhurst, who was just eight years of age at the time, tells his story to Sail-World in 2007 here
