Over the last nine years, the Asia Pacific Superyacht Conference has provided strength and professional direction to the growing Asian yacht market. The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Turning issues into opportunities in Asia.’ Andy Treadwell, CEO of the Singapore Yacht Show says, “Many of us know only too well the pitfalls of the Asian yachting scene, but there are many opportunities as well and this conference is the meeting place to gather together the collective knowledge and bring about positive change.”
With more than 16 presentations, interactive panels and Martin Redmayne of The Superyacht Group back as chairperson, this two-day conference promises to be the regional industry’s one-stop source of high quality networking and market intelligence.
Expert Speakers and Call to Action: Day one focuses on connecting governments and industry in Asia, and looks into defining a strategic roadmap for the continued growth of the industry. Nigel Beatty, Chairman of the Asia Pacific Superyacht Association, will lead this important discussion. The dynamic topics of the conference will also allow participants to identify critical drivers for growth and success in Asia, and look at how businesses can ‘think globally, but act locally.’
Day two’s theme, ‘Asia Pacific 360° Insights,’ will begin with a keynote address from Mr. Agung Kuswandono, Deputy Minister for Coordination of Natural Resources and Services from the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs, Government of Indonesia. This will be followed by panel discussions focusing on marinas, chartering, and the rise of ‘expedition yachting’ in Asia, along with issues such as yacht management, insurance, and tackling plastic waste pollution.
Other notable speakers for this conference include the globally renowned superyacht designer Espen Oeino, along with Michael Breman from Lürssen Yachts, the yard that builds some of the world’s largest superyachts. Both Espen and Michael will consider on how the global yacht industry can continue to balance luxury, design and cost against environmental issues and social impact.
B2B Opportunities: B2B networking opportunities are an important part of any conference experience: the social programme includes a cocktail reception on 10 April, as well as networking lunches and coffee breaks that give participants time and opportunity to build the connections that are necessary for the industry to move forward.
