Since launching the RYA Joining Point programme some 437 boating organisations have signed up to the scheme earning them commission by promoting the benefits of RYA membership and helping the association grow its membership base.

In the last year there has been an 9% increase in the number of clubs, training centres and marine organisations benefitting from the scheme, with the RYA recording its highest ever membership figures in September 2017 with 110,884 members.

"Joining Point is our way of thanking those organisations that do a fantastic job promoting the benefits of RYA membership to their customers and signing them up as members to the association", commented Gemma Garrett, Membership Engagement Officer.

"With their support we are able to build our membership base, and every member that joins adds their voice in support of the work the RYA does ensuring that legislators, regulators and other authorities understand and take account of recreational boating activity."

The scheme provides a quick and easy way for those organisations registered as RYA Joining Points to encourage their members and customers to join the RYA and experience the many great benefits of membership, from specialist and technical boating advice from our in-house experts, to access to exclusive offers and discounts from over 70 member reward partners, helping members keep down the cost of their boating.

As a special thank you for spreading the word about RYA membership, throughout April registered Joining Points will receive double the standard commission values of the scheme, receiving £20 commission for every family membership or £15 for every personal membership they sign up. The commission can then be fed back in to their organisation. In 2017 the top performing Joining Point earnt £1,297.50 in commission for their organisation.

"The Joining Point scheme is a real win for all involved. The Joining Points earn valuable commission to feedback in to their organisation, the new members get to enjoy all the great benefits RYA membership affords them and the RYA sees its membership flourish", Gemma added.

Existing RYA Joining Points don't need to do anything to register for this offer, the double commission will automatically be applied to their account in July's payment run. All they need to do is tell their customers about the benefits of RYA membership and get them to sign up; it's that simple.

Existing Joining Points requiring more promotional materials should email joiningpoint@rya.org.uk quoting their Joining Point reference number or the name of their club or organisation to receive further membership forms.

Each Joining Point pack provides the club or centre with the possibly of earning up to £1,000 in commission, up to £2,000 during April's double commission special promotion, depending upon the number of members signed up. Commission is paid on a quarterly basis and the amount depends upon they type of membership signed up to.
