Thursday 1st March marks the launch of the 2018 ilovesailing calendar competition and we officially introduce the 2018 ilovesailing duck.

Over the last six years the ilovesailing calendar competition has proved extremely successful with thousands of sailing enthusiasts and amateur and professional photographers sharing their favourite sailing photos in the hope of claiming a spot on the calendar and we are delighted to announce its return for another year.

"We have received some stunning images over the years but this year we felt it was time to shake things up and give the calendar a new twist. This year we have introduced a 'Black and White' theme and are asking entrants to submit black and white sailing photos", commented ilovesailing co-ordinator Emma Slater.

"I am really excited to see what people submit for the calendar, black and white images can be extremely powerful and I am sure will make for a truly beautiful calendar and we've introduced the black duck for 2018 to compliment the theme", Emma added.

Whether it's dinghy cruising or yacht racing, family days out or regattas, whatever kind of sailing you love, share your favourite sailing photos and each month two lucky entrants will be picked to win a place on the 2019 ilovesailing calendar. As well as claiming their spot on the 2019 calendar each winner will also win:

  • Two tickets to the PSP Southampton Boat Show for the official prize giving
  • Canvas print of their winning entry
  • A copy of the final printed calendar
  • A selection of RYA goodies
  • And of course the new ilovesailing rubber duck!
Two winners will be picked each month between March and July to represent a different month on the 2019 calendar, with the final two spots being selected in August from all the other entries made between March and July.

All you have to do to take part is post your favourite sailing photo(s) on to the ilovesailing Facebook page or email your entry to emma.slater@rya.org.uk, it's that easy. Winners will be notified via Facebook and/or email.

Entrants can supply multiple images and can take enter in more than one month. All images need to be black and white, although spot colour may also be considered. By submitting a photograph, entrants agree that their images maybe used for marketing and promotional purposes. If selected, entrants will be asked to confirm they have permission to share the photo from any individuals visible in the photograph. Full terms and conditions available at Facebook page, click on About.

The 2019 calendars will go on sale at the 20178 Southampton Boat Show in September, where the first 50 people to purchase a copy will also receive a FREE 2018 ilovesailing rubber duck. Alternatively the calendars will also be available to purchase via the RYA web shop from 14 September.

As well as the calendar competition the ilovesailing page will continue to run its ever popular weekly caption competition, giving you a chance to share your funny, clever and witty captions in a bid to win an ilovesailing duck.
