RYA 'Push the Boat Boat' Open Day at Bolton Sailing Club

A beautiful day helped to draw over one hundred visitors to Bolton Sailing Club's 'Push the Boat Out' open day.

We couldn't have ordered better weather or a better turnout from existing club members to take families and individuals out for a taste of sailing. Everyone came back thrilled after a go in boats ranging from Optimists to RS Vision. Some even came back wetter than they planned!

Drawn by a banner on the main road, a listing on the RYA website, and a splash in the Bolton News definitely helped raise awareness in the local area. Even the local primary school helped give the event a boost and got the local kids excited about the sailing club on their doorstep.

The club found it a very worthwhile day seeing a sizable uptake of new members, plus gave those who volunteered to help on the day a chance to show off their sailing skills and get a tan at the same time.
