It's back - the ilovesailing calendar competition 2014

by Emma Slater, RYA 2 Mar 2014 02:16 PST 1 March 2014

At the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show British Sailing Team sailors Ed Powys and Megan Pascoe joined the Shoreham Youth Sailing Team to officially launch the return of the ilovesailing calendar competition for 2014.

Following the huge success of the ilovesailing calendar competition last year, which saw hundreds of sailing enthusiasts share their favourite sailing pictures in the hope of winning a spot on the first ever ilovesailing calendar, it seemed only fitting to run it once again and who better to launch it in style than some of the country's top sailors and talented young sailors.

ilovesailing is once again asking sailing fans to post their favourite sailing photos on to the ilovesailing Facebook page www.facebook.com/ryailovesailing and each month two lucky entrants will be picked to win a place on the RYA ilovesailing calendar for 2015 and of course a now much coveted 2014, ilovesailing rubber duck, which for 2014 will be red!

Running from Saturday 1 March to Friday 22 August 2014, there will be a total of 12 photo winners (two winners per month), each of whom will represent a different month in the 2015 calendar.

"We had so many fantastic photos posted on the ilovesailing Facebook last year for the calendar competition we felt we just had to do it again it's such a great way to showcase everyone's amazing photos to a wider audience.

"So whether dinghy sailing is your passion or you enjoy yacht cruising, all you need to do is post your photo to the Facebook page; please make sure you have consent to use the image and you never know you could be a winner", explains Emma Slater, ilovesailing coordinator.

Two winners will be picked each month and the winners will be announced on the ilovesailing Facebook page. All winners will also receive a copy of the calendar when it is completed.

The calendars will go on sale at the PSP Southampton Boat Show 2014, with the first 50 people to purchase a copy also receiving a 2014 ilovesailing rubber duck.

As well as the calendar competition the ilovesailing page will continue to run its ever popular weekly caption competition, giving you a chance to share your funny, clever and witty captions in a bid to win an ilovesailing duck.

Come along to the page at www.facebook.com/ryailovesailing and get involved.
