Scorpion

Scorpion

The Scorpion is the Modern Classic; it is a 14ft, two-man, dominantly wooden boat. It is known for its classic but stylish look, a hiking boat designed to cope with launching into the Cornish Surf making use of a large front tank and foredeck. The spinnaker is large for the boat style at 11m² the mainsail having an area of 6.7m² and jib at 3.25m², allowing the boat to point fairly high. The class is once again growing with nationals turnout above 65 boats. Author: James Salter
